In addition to only selecting the directory, it would be nice to be able to select the file name when saving, and allow overwriting of existing files.

For instance, I get a regular email with a document attachment where the content is updated, but the file name is the same, and I would like to keep it that way. However, I can only select the directory, not the file name. And then, instead of giving me the option to choose the file name and overwrite the existing one if I want, it creates a new document with the name plus _1 on the end. I then have to go in and manually delete the old doc, and rename the new one. Not really very efficient.

The mac code libraries have this built in, so it would be nice if it could be implemented like it is in Mac Mail.

After playing with this a little more, I discovered that this problem happens with the "Use Full Width Preview" option selected. When that is not selected, I am able to resize individual panes to my heart's content.

I second this. Horizontal resizing is REALLY clunky, in a couple ways:
    1) If I want to make the preview area smaller, I can only do it to a certain size.
    2) I can't just resize the list of messages without making the preview pane bigger. If I do, I have to drag the right edge back, and that also resizes the mail list again (this wouldn't be an issue if there was the basic mail client option of having the preview pane be to the side OR underneath), which defeats the whole attempt in the first place.

I completely concur. This feature is standard in just about every email client I've ever used (fee and paid), so it's hared to comprehend why that's not a default option for a paid app.
