I'll give an example of usage: I get server log messages that I need to keep around, but I generally don't want to see them in my inbox. They can go straight to the archive. It would be great to right-click on a message and use that as a seed to start a new filtering rule: auto-match the from/to/subject of the right-clicked message to make it faster to create new rules. I'm doing this every time I've got a new server I need to track, so it's an ongoing activity.

+1 for this. Existing feature in Apple Mail, where various folders (Trash, Sent Items, etc) have an option to empty on selected time intervals. Helps manage server storage size for providers with limited IMAP mailbox capacity.

I'll second the comment from anon on 2015-01-11: I add lots of new contacts from emails received. What I would like is for the contact card to open so I can add other details like phone numbers and company names.
