How can we improve Airmail?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

  1. White 'new email icon' in the menu bar for Yosemite 'black mode'

    The default icon is already responsive to the normal and 'black mode' menu bar. Yet the 'new email icon' and the counter next to it stays black and is not readable while in 'black mode'.

  2. Proper table support

    Currently when copying a table from another application, say OpenOffice or Numbers, the table inserted into Airmail is an image, rather than text.

    This make this difficult for the recipient, especially if they need to use the data in the table.

  3. Plug-in instructions

    I have the Todoist plugin, but it just runs a terminal window, and not much else when I click on it. Perhaps some small instruction on how to install the plug-in would be in order? :-)

  4. Second email list column

    It would be great to have a second column similar to the inbox list to view contents from another folder.

    For example: Having a second column to always see your todo items.

    Currently I leave my Todo emails in my inbox so they are visible, but they quickly get buried by new email...

  5. Emoji?

    I wonder if it has occurred to anyone to add support for Emoji or even basic emoticons? Personally I don't use them very much but was a little surprised when I could not use them in Airmail. They are occasionally appropriate however

  6. Safari doesn't stay on selected Airmail Page

    In Safari 8.0.2 if you go to an Airmail support page it always jumps back to support.airmail.com.

    Please fix this.

  7. Better deal with all email addresses with the app itself

    I clicked an email address in the app but it started the Mail app instead of dealing with the address in Airmail.

  8. Menu should be visible all the time

    Currently I can use the Airmail menu only in case I choose to get notified about the new messages both in the dock and in the status bar. In case the unread mail count will be displated in the status bar only I can't access Airmail menu any more and I cannot switch to Airmail from any other app using command + tab.

  9. Make the Draft Folder a bin for "templates" like it was before

    With Airmail 1.0 when sending a message, after editing, from the draft, didn't delete it from the folder. It was reusable. You could use your draft more than once. Very useful

  10. SCANSNAP SCANNER NOT SUPPORTED

    This is not an idea. It is a problem.
    I like Airmail 2 but it does not support my
    fav scanner SCANSNAP from Fujitsu.

    Pls advise if there is a way to use this fab scanner with your
    fabulous product.

  11. Message content doesn't always have the proper right hand margin.

    The text for some of my messages goes right to the edge of the Airmail window with no margin. That means, when I'm fullscreen, the text goes right to the edge of my screen.

  12. Create "today" filter, one for "2 days ago", etc, up to 5 days

    I love the "today" filter. For personal preferences, and cleanup purposes, would love to have filters to show email that arrived X days from today.

    Example (using Dec 12, 2014)

    1) "Today" filter - show emails from today.
    2) "Two days ago / Yesterday" filter - show emails from 1 day ago (Dec 11).
    3) "Three days ago / 72 hours" filter - show emails from 2 days ago (Dec 12).

    Ideally, it would update each day. So on Dec 13, the "yesterday filter" shows mail from Dec 12, and so on. Several email apps (for Android, that I know…

  13. Can't select multiple emails for deletion.

    To begin with I love this app but the preview bar does not highlight the message you are viewing. There is a slight change but it is not easy to see which one you have open. I find this makes it very difficult to decide which message is the next in the list without comparing the headings.
    Please provide clear colour difference between open/selected message and the rest of the list.

  15. after upgrade...

    Not all messages were transmitted. Zirca 70 messages are missing.

    Furthermore, I can not delete mails. Neither with the trash button or with the delete key.

  16. Manual - there needs to be one

    It would be helpful to have an updated manual. I have never used 1.x and am new to the product. I want to know how you're different than Apple Mail. I find it extremely annoying that when I go to your "manual" page, I get automatically redirected to a plugin page. Why? This is a bug, as far as I'm concerned, and it does not help me learn, appreciate, or want to go further with your software - bad user experience = unhappy customers and bad fallout on social nets.

  17. Reply, reply all, forward

    Sometimes when I try to reply, forward or reply all, app is not adding the original message. It only adds one part of the message.

    To solve it, I open/close the received message until it finally works.

  19. option to disable status bar

    I would like to be able to disable the status bar icon.
    The feedback for version one suggests this was added previously, but has gone missing (or not obvious) in version two.

  20. Quick Reply as default mode doesn't work for reply-all

    Quick Reply as default mode doesn't work for reply-all
    If you select under the account to quick-reply by default, when selecting "reply-all" it only select one contact and not the entire CC list.
