  2. Evernote Rules - Add ability to specify notebook and tags

When adding a rule to dispatch to Evernote, it would be nice to have it go directly to a specific notebook and/or add tags - rather than the default notebook. That would allow filtering of rules to add direct to notebook storage of appropriate emails.

  3. GitHub Flavoured Markdown

Add GitHub flavoured Markdown. Perhaps this would be easier to implement than adding your own syntax highlighting. Selecting between "flavors" of Markdown would also be an excellent extension of this feature.

  5. Allow Things quick entry with autofill

Airmail could allow to use the Things keyboard shortcut to create entry based on emails rather than the different (non-configurable) shortcut that Airmail offers (and that is not quick entry based). As described on this page http://support.culturedcode.com/customer/portal/articles/174723#capturing-links-and-text-with-autofill

The app needs to have an AppleScript interface so that Autofill can access a selection within it. Specifically, the developer needs to support linking to objects in the app via URLs: for example, Mail uses message:// and Safari uses http:// or https://. For text selections, the app only needs to use standard text fields.

  6. possibility to deactivate features for a better overview

If you right click on a mail you have al lot of features.
If you could hide some of them you don't use (e.g. send to Thing, Services, Flags...) you can have a much more better UI for your own use.

  8. Provide ability to edit subject for received email

i would like to be able to change the subject for emails before (or after) archiving them. Some automated eReceipt type emails have generic details and I like to edit the subject to include meaningful data.

  12. Optional background color for unread highlight

Allow user to enhance the visibility of unread highlight by selecting a background tint color for unread messages. (the dot and font color can be difficult to notice sometimes)

  13. Save link in email to Pocket

It would get to right-click on a link in an email and be able to save it to Pocket. I get many emails that are digests of articles, and it'd great to save out individual links to Read-Later services.

  14. Delegate support for Exchange accounts

Please add option to add delegates mailboxes for Exchange accounts.

(Perfect would be exchange categories sync within delegates mailbox. This is a feature that outlook for mac is missing at the moment.)

  15. TOOLBAR IMPROVEMENTS

You really need to make the toolbar better. I like BIG ICONS, I like to
be able to SPREAD THEM APART so I don't accidentally hit the wrong one because I go through a lot of email each day, so I like the icons to be
easily identified as in COLORED ICONS (see the POSTBOX app). Please change this!

  16. Emoji Support For Message Body and Message Line

Many Products (such as Basecamp) support emojis and send them as emoji code in emails and subject lines i.e. :+1: for thumbs up, etc.

Should be a pretty easy feature to add to support them.

  17. Syntax highlighting in code blocks

I regularly send code snippets to people. The markdown code support is already brilliant, but if syntax highlighting could be enabled, it'd be brilliant.

The markdown parser already supports using fenced code blocks, using the language as a class, e.g.

        echo "hello world";

  18. Add an "add to evernote" and "add to evernote and archive" button

It would be great to have the ability to add a button to the top that quickly and easily lets us sent emails to Evernote, Omnifocus, etc for use with the GTD Productivity system. This app seems streamlined for that system and it would save having to right click and select from a list.

    Thanks.

  19. Conversation View For Inbox Only

Currently it appears that Airmail includes ALL messages in any folder in a conversation. For someone who receive daily updates or emails with the same subject each day this can really add up. For example, I receive an email from each of my servers each day, and the subject is the same so even though I've archived each one, each day, it still shows the thread of 1500 emails in my Inbox.

I think it would be great to have an option to show a thread/conversation of messages in the Inbox only and not include those in other folders, it…

  20. Enable the use of a Proxy

It would be great to be able to set a (SOCKS) proxy setting within the application* for talking to Gmail/IMAP servers as my work firewall blocks talking to Gmail's IMAP servers from within their network, this would mean I can use Airmail at work (that would be great). ^_^

    • I can't set a global proxy within the OS X settings as this would mean all of my network traffic going via that proxy and none of my work systems functioning.
