  1. Please can there be more definition between READ and UNREAD messages?

If you look at gmail, the difference in styling between READ and UNREAD messages is very clear, i find the blue dot for unread is messy and doesn't help clearly define. A darker background would be clearer.

  2. Dark text color on lighter colored labels

Dark text color when using lighter label background colors.

For example, my yellow label currently has the default white text color, which is hard to read. A darker text color would be more sufficient.

  3. Reuse user name with different providers

Now that Apple has allowed iCloud accounts to have any user name, I have used my Gmail email address (in full). When I've set up Airmail, I have been told I cannot have a Gmail account and an iCloud account with the same user name ... which is silly, because it is with 2 different providers! Please allow this functionality

Integrate with Clearbit or Full Contact to pull in details about the person you receive email from.

  5. Feature request: highlight *something* when searching

Hi. Maybe it's just me, but I'll often leave Airmail open with a search term in the search bar. Thus, later on, a quick glance at the program makes it look like there are no new mails. I have to stop and consciously check to see if I'm searching for something and that's why.

I would like to see some kind of visual cue that a search is in progress - maybe as simple as dimming the top bar and/or highlighting the search box. Just something so you can see when you glance that you're not in the Inbox.

    Thanks.

  6. move email to last local folder used

With a large number of local folders, going through the entire classification tree for every single email which should end up in the same local folder is boring... (for example one original email and its answer are in two separate Imap folders : Incoming mail and Sent. I cannot select them at the same time and direct them to the same local folder once treated...
Mail.app has this function : "move to the last folder used", and once a series of email is treated, sending all the series of emails to the "last folder used : XXX" would save time.

  7. Default alias should be per account

I have two accounts. Each should have its own default alias for outgoing mail.

  10. photo browser

With the apple mail and the iPad version airmail you can select photos directly from the photo app, and they are loaded at a reasonable size into the letter, and the photo is displayed without having to download an image,
I would prefer this method, with notability you can even re-size and move the photos, that would be the ultimate, however if I ever require to email a photo along with a letter, I could always use another app,

  11. return if no response

I'm almost at the point where I'd like to revisit Airmail but I just don't think it meets the needs other platforms are able to provide.

For example, it would be amazing to have the Boomerang type features to recall an email IF it isn't responded to by a set amount of time. (Similar to snooze, but with more options and usefulness)

  12. Delete spam without downloading HTML content

Allow deleting of messages from the messages list without loading the content into the detail pane. I can usually tell marketing spam from the snippet in the messages list, but cannot delete it without Airmail loading the full message, including dynamic content that lets the spammer know I'm a real person. MS Outlook provides a delete button for each message in the list, and clicking on that button deletes the message without loading its contents.

And yes, I know I can turn off "Autoload Remote Images" in Preferences/Appearance, but then it affects all the email that I DO want to…

  13. move emails to folder should always remove all all copies

You copy emails to a folder (copy from folder X --> Y). Now you go to folder Y and want to remove the copied which are inside folder X, it would be super handy if you can do this from folder Y with the command "move to folder Y".
So far you can only go back to folder X and select all mails which were copied and then say from there "move to folder Y". This can be very ugly if you copied many emails over time.

  14. Enable editing via ResEdit

I'd love to see Airmail adopt the necessary APIs and tools to support ResEdit for greater UI customization. This would give me the ability to make the app look exactly how I want. This feature would be difficult to implement, as ResEdit was discontinued when OS9 was no longer supported, but with the proper emulation, I'm sure you could get it up and running- perhaps you could even include an OS9 emulator in Airmail itself! I'd love to use AppleWorks again, as I'm sure would everyone else too.

  15. Support for gmail superstars

I'm not sure how much this feature is still used by the majority of gmail users. I do have a pretty idiosyncratic way of organising my inbox.

  16. Archive Messages from Inbox on a Schedule

Email quickly becomes stale, can we have a feature that labels specific messages and archives them on a schedule as opposed to immediately.

For example, maybe I want to archive all of my Read Inbox messages on a rolling 90 days or maybe I want specifically Archive all of my Calendar Notifications at the end of the day (they are useless after the meeting.)

  18. Put Snooze Icon on Main Toolbar (and clean up the icons)

When viewing an email right now and you want to snooze an email you have to click the "…" icon, then choose snooze. Can you please put a snooze icon right on the toolbar, so it can be a one click option?

The best solution would be to give users the ability to choose what items go on the toolbar.

A simple clock icon would do, but I'd also like to see the icons get cleaned up. They aren't very good looking on my retina Mac.

I loved how MailBox did it. See the attached image. Simple and clean!

  19. Set a folder to which a new message is moved after it is sent

I used a plugin in Apple Mail (either Mail Act-On or MailTags) that allows me to set a folder to which a new message is moved after it is sent.

I prefer to use a hierarchical system of folders for archiving my emails, and it is so much easier to tag a new message before I send it than it is to send it, then go to the 'sent' folder and move it from there to where I want it.

  20. Bring Back Redirect option!

Why did you guys get rid of Redirect!!! I use this all the time. Very upset to see this gone all of a sudden. Now I have to downgrade.
