How can we improve Airmail?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

  1. unread folder

    lacking the main idea which outlook has . Exchange users have multiple user created dirs which are a result of "rules" created due to large number of mails recived and the focus is not to loose those mails under the heap .
    thus a "unread" directory is needed which should pull mails from ALL the user created dirs also .Currently airmail only pulls mails from the "inbox" to the "unified " view.

  2. Personal Filtering

    The only thing why I right now not use Airmail is that it is not possible to create personal filters.
    What I mean is that I can say:
    - when a email is xxx@domain.ltd move to folder / delete / mark unread or read / flag
    - when a email has subject xxx move to folder / delete / mark read or unread / flag

    So that I can filter my mails faster. The sorting after unread / favorite / flaged / attachment is nice but sorting into folders right now must be done by hand and don't make my…

  3. Disable automatic download attachments for spam folder

    I did a virus scan of my machine, turns out it has 15 (windows) trojans. tracked it back to downloaded attachments from my spam filter in airmail. Granted it just a series of bits on the hard drive unless it is viewed or open, and these can't affect my machine, I would really rather not have a means for even inert and incompatible trojans to be downloaded onto my machine.

  4. Please fix the Trash Can Icon!

    The resolution of the trash can icon is absolutely horrendous and makes it stand out like a sore thumb in the middle of the otherwise perfect, beautiful layout. The lines are unforgivably jaggy on a retina display. Please fix this!

  6. Please provide a manual for 2.0.

    Right now your "Manual" under the Help menu you are redirected to a webpage that is decidedly NOT a manual. Or provide good message boards or more complete instructions or something. I would love to move off the Mac Mail app, and I am told by many that Airmail is the way to go, but right now it is difficult to figure out how to make Airmail work the way I need it to.

  8. attachment file select single

    Show list of attachment filenames in the mail-menu (top-right of detail view), so a single one can be downloaded specifically. Now I have to download them all and sort through the mess (with logos and such) in the downloads folder.

  9. Single mail view is cropping messages

    A lot of times (way too often) the mail gets "cropped". The app seem to calculate the viewing area before all images are completely loaded (my guess), and then when images are loaded it "breaks" that viewing area. And I can't scroll to see the rest of the message (but if I select text and drag below the cut it moves into view).

  11. Pause when there is a message delay

    I love the feature that delays message sending. Unfortunately I sometimes close Airmail before the message has been sent. it would be great if there could be an alert before closing if there are messages still in the send queue.

    Do not display the HTML contain for SPAM and or folders called Junk. You do not want to confirm your email address for spammers.

  13. When moving a thread to a folder, keep sent emails in 'sent items'

    Today – If you want to move a thread of emails to a folder (e.g. bills), AM moves the whole thread including the mails you've sent. Therefore, they do not show in the 'sent items' folder anymore. On gmail/outlook online or apple mail, when you move a thread to a folder (e.g. bills) it just moves the mail received. You can still see the tread on 'sent items' and on the folder you've moved it to. (I think this only affects IMAP account.)

    I'd really like to be able to choose if I want AM to move only the mails…

  14. Move to "recent" option?

    Would love to see some sort of "recent move" feature (similar to mac mail) that will allow you to move a message from your inbox to a folder you recently moved to (earmarked from the last email that was moved)... It would same some time because I have a lot of folders to keep things organized! Thanks!!

  15. Delete email notification of the email that has been read

    In notification bar (not Today view!), the email notifications continue showing in the bar after I read them, and I need to go there and manually dismiss the notification.

    Remap the Spam Sieve ~ Train as Bad to ⌥⌘S instead of ⌥⌘B

    You have support for SpamSieve and I use it extensively, and when I'm Mac Mail, it worked a treat, and I could do it with the keyboard shortcut.
    NOW, you have it under Messages > Mark As Reminder ⌥⌘B . . .

    The stupid thing is, you also have at the top of that list ⌥⌘B as To Do, so when ever I use that shortcut, I have the msg Marked as To Do and stays in my Inbox, instead of my Spam Folder.

  17. Send body of email message to Omnifocus

    Please have Airmail 2 send the body of the email message as a note attachment to Omnifocus instead of a link to the original message.

    I've had very mixed results using the Omnifocus integration. I hate having emails in my message body so 99.99% of the time I archive a message after it's been sent to Omnifocus. The note of the task creates a link to the original message, but often Omnifocus can't find or load the linked mail. Or worse, when I'm using Omnifocus on my phone, I don't have access to the content.

  19. Keep active message window on top

    It's maddening to me that if I am writing a message and have to leave the application--for example to find contact information or get a hyperlink to include in my message--when I come back to Airmail, my active draft window is invisible, hidden behind the main mailbox window. This must be a problem for many or most users. (If I am writng a message I DON'T want to return to right away, I save it as a draft anyway.)

    Why can't returning to an active message draft either be the default setting, or at least an option in Preferences?

  20. Allow Email Content to be viewed Below the Email List

    Allow email content to be viewed below the list of emails as an option.

    Currently the content pane is to the right of the list of emails. On Macs with smaller (e.g. 11" and 13"), there isn't enough screen real estate. Allowing individual email content to be move below the email list, would make it more readable.
