How can we improve Airmail?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.

  1. Delayed sending functionality broken

    I am unable to cancel sending of delayed messages. In v1, there used to be a "sending" folder, but now even that is gone. The menu item, supposedly activated by ⌘. is always greyed out also. I really wish this latter option would work as it's the quickest way.

  2. Clicking on a web link in Airmail. It would be great if it would bring the browser forward, like most mail programs do.

    When you click on a web link in an email it would be nice if the browser would move to the front. In Airmail you can click through on a link but it leaves the browser in the background.

  3. Mute notification sound when 'Do not disturb' turned on

    The notification sound should be disabled when 'Do not disturb' is turned on.

  4. Why is my Address Book empty no matter how many times I attempt to import my Contacts, local address book or Gmail.

    Idea? Are you kidding me? This is a support issue.

  5. Download allmail

    I really like this program but since the 2.0 update I am unable to download a few weeks worth of mail in allmail. trash and sent are also not complete. This makes your search feature useless. Looking forward to the next version and having this issue resolved

  6. Send from Address Change based on recipient

    If I compose an email to a certain domain, for example john@mycompany.com

    and I have an email address from that same domain(me@mycompany.com), the send from email address could automatically change to that domain.

  10. Office for Mac e-mail attachment functionality

    If I chose Airmail as my default e-mail reader I loose the ability to send/attach documents directly from the MS Office document (Word, Excel, etc). I can only do this if Outlook is the default e-mail reader.
    Is there any way that Airmail can dupe MS office for Mac 2011 into accepting direct from document attachments?

  11. Monospace font for plain text emails

    It would be quite nice nice to allow formatting plain text emails' display with a specified font. I usually like to view them with monospaced fonts (like Monaco or Menlo) because for the ones I receive they are often formatted with tables or something (which aren't good in variable width fonts like Helvetica).

    Would definitely make Airmail more productive for me!

  12. Clicking anywhere in message should allow delete

    To delete a message, I have to click in the sidebar of a message or on the message in the Inbox pane. I should be able to click anywhere in a message (other than on a link, of course) to "select" the message for an action, like Delete. The experience is very inconsistent.

  13. Add buffer above horizontal scrollbar

    If the message I'm viewing has a really long line that forces a horizontal scroll bar, the last line of the message is covered by the scroll bar.

  14. Allow viewing and writing of emails directly from pop-up from status bar

    Drop down window (similar to that of netflix for mac application) that allows quick viewing and writing of emails without switching applications

  16. Improve Keyboard Support in Mail View Window

    After selecting an email in the email list, scrolling thru the Message Detail is quite confusing.
    To test...
    Select email message, press tab and then Page Up/Down works, but not the arrow/cursor keys.
    However if I select and email and then click in the email preview body, no keys work to scroll the message.
    Confusingly though, if I click the 'Subject' in the Message Detail window, then the arrow keys AND Page Up/Down buttons work as expected.
    Some continuity please for those of us the interchange between mouse/keyboard.

    Also a suggested shortcut for attachments. There is a QuickView menu item…

  17. Improve custom sort by Sender

    Currently a message from (for example) no-reply@dropbox... would be sorted under "n" and one from email@dyson... would be sorted under "e". It would be better if both were sorted under "d".

  18. signature attachments in settings

    would be great to be able to insert/attach items (for example home-made fonts) into default email signature composer in the settings folder, so that these kind of attachments automatically get into emails.

    QQmail has huge amount of users in china, but air mail 2 can not add qq mail account.

  20. Attach files to existing threads feature.

    If you have one email thread going and you want to attach a file to it there is no possible way to do that in apple mail for ios. Doesnt exist in many apps like Gmail and Mailbox. Acompli manages this well.
