Organizing rules in folders
I have lots of different inboxes and each of them needs sorting rules. Since they are many: the rules list is becoming almost endless.
It would be nice to be able to organize rules in folders, like you do with computer files

Edit/Change "subject" on rules forward.
Many external to-do applications (Trello, Gneo for Evernote, Favro etc) have "secret" e-mail addresses I can post tasks to. However, they often rely on being able to edit/change the subject line of the e-mail. I would like to do this as actions within Airmail, however, there is no way I can reach the subject line via the rules settings.
For example, an e-mail comes in that I would like to act on, by creating a task in Gneo (which uses Evernote). That subject line would look something like this:
Original subject line of e-mail
I would then like to add

Have the ability to delay rules
I run a business where I need to be able to see the emails in my inbox for 12-48 hours but then i want them automatically sorted into the right folder. Currently with the rules I can only have the rule active or inactive and when they are reactivated the rules do not apply to messages already in the inbox only to incoming messages.

Add the "reply sender" on the rules options
It would be useful to add the "reply sender" as an auto-responder for specific rules. For instance we need it for our company if someone sends their CV to the Human Resources department, we need to inform them about the Data Protection Law

Ability to apply a color to email text or background in message list, like Mail.app
One of my most-used features in Apple Mail is using rules to apply color to either the text of an email in the message list, or a tinted background, or both.
PLEASE add this to Airmal. It makes it so much easier to distinguish emails in the message list at a glance.
Thank you!

have 'OR' instead of just 'AND' rules
current rules are 'AND', limiting rules possibilities. Although it is possible to create multiple rules to achieve the same outcome, have one rule with 'or' has much better semantics and minimises the number of rules

Import rules from Apple Mail
When switching from Apple Mail to Airmail, it is a huge project to manually recreate years' worth of accumulated Mail rules within Airmail.
It would be great to be able to import the existing SyncedRules.plist file into Airmail. Even if the rules required further customization from there to accommodate Airmail's different rules format and options, that would streamline things greatly!

Synchronise rules Outlook/Gmail/etc
I've been using Airmail instead of the Mac Mail or Outlook (itself) to read and write messages using my business Outlook account.
Recently I was trying to add a new filter rule for some messages and when I opened the "Rule Manager" tadah! I just noticed that, event though rules are working (what means messages are been placed on the right folders as I set it for), there's not rules in there!
Airmail isn't reading the list of rules I've set on my outlook account and, because that, I suppose that even though I set a new rule for something…

Rule Option: Do Not Send Notification
I have several rules to filter certain types of mail (ads and newsletters, for example). These generally go like this: "Mark as Read", then "Move to folder x". But I still get OS X notifications for each of these emails. In Apple Mail, if I wrote a rule that said to mark a certain message as read, I would not see notifications for those emails. I would like similar functionality in Airmail, or at least the option to add "Do Not Send Notification" to my rules.

Rules conditions for header
In order to sort messages by header entries like "X-Mailer" it should be possible to select custom header entries in rule management. This could be an easy way to enable Spam-Management.

Add the ability to bounce emails to the rules.
Add the ability to bounce emails to the rules so that incoming messages that match the rule can be bounced automatically without user intervention.

Trigger rules on time/periodically
I use some labels: "Del after 1 Week", "... 1 Day", ...
Thats very handy for e.g. Newsletters or forum summaries which are out of date if the next one arrives.
But every E-Mail client I know only allows handling those only for incoming messages. The receive event is the trigger. Wouldn't it be nice if I can add a Rule, which is executed, say every day and filters thos labled mails and deletes them, if they're older than 1d or 1w? For every label I would add one rule.19 votes -
regex
Airmail is still amazing. Thank you.
It would be even better if users could select a "matches regex" filter in addition to the other filters (contains, does not contain, begins with...) when creating a Rule.
This would make message filtering way more powerful and flexible, and it seems like the implementation would not be difficult.

better rules screen
The rules window needs to be improved to make it more understandable. As you can see in the attached screenshot the mailbox selection should go above the if statement.
That would make more sense since right now it looks like "any" single rule can activate the action which would mean "any mail in my inboxes" not just the ones that are true for the lines following the account selection line. In practice the way it works now is the rule checks the account/s I've chosen and then goes through the if/then on each of those rules. I've included a screenshot…5 votes -
Ability to enable/disable rules by day of the week or add a condition for day of the week
as a freelance worker dividing my week between multiple companies, it would be incredible to set a snooze automatically for specific emails on a specific day of the week to a different day.
Seems like the rules feature for the job only it is missing some small functionality for that - the ability to create a rule that on specific days snoozes emails from certain senders to other days.
This could be done by either adding a condition that triggers on specific days of the week, or giving the ability to enable disable rules by the day of the week.

Rules that continue to function beyond 24 hours and sync/apply across multiple devices.
I created several rules that would filter advertiser emails to automatically move from my inbox to a temporary archive. I also created a rule to empty out any emails in temp archive which are older than 60 days.
Things worked great until I launched Airmail on my iPad. Suddenly all my rules reverted so that every "moved message" was moved to the inbox. Even after I corrected this, none of the rules seem to be working or applying. It basically rendered all my rules useless.
Sure I can go back to creating rules in Gmail, but I'd prefer to create…

Rules are buggy if folders deleted
If a folder is deleted, rules referencing folder coming alphabetically later erroneously change the folder they refer to.Example: I have folders A B C and D. A rule filters incoming mail and moves it to folder C. I then delete folder B. The rule will erroneously move to folder D afterwards.
It looks like the rule keeps the index/position of the folder to move to instead of the name.
