Improve Keyboard Support in Mail View Window

After selecting an email in the email list, scrolling thru the Message Detail is quite confusing.
To test...
Select email message, press tab and then Page Up/Down works, but not the arrow/cursor keys.
However if I select and email and then click in the email preview body, no keys work to scroll the message.
Confusingly though, if I click the 'Subject' in the Message Detail window, then the arrow keys AND Page Up/Down buttons work as expected.
Some continuity please for those of us the interchange between mouse/keyboard.

Also a suggested shortcut for attachments. There is a QuickView menu item when right clicking the attachment. ⌘Y is the quickview shortcut for Finder and would be appropriate in this situation ( I realise Spacebar also works but I'm very much used to ⌘Y).

    Surprised not many users have asked for this basic feature. Reading an email is one of the primary functions in an email client. And if one cannot scroll through an email using only the keyboard and has to use the mouse / trackpad each time, it pretty much defeats all usability of the application and makes the user frustrated each time when they use the application.

    Hopefully this gets resolved / implemented sooner rather than later.

    I cannot find any keys that will allow scrolling through:

    1. Separate message window (double click on message)
    2. "Message Detail" pane

    +1000 for having scrolling with arrow keys (or some key please). Help us avoid carpal tunnel.

    the spacebar *finally* allows scrolling down like all other apps that exist, but <shift> spacebar ... still scrolls down. (unlike all other apps that exist). the sadness never seems to end. hint, it should do the opposite of scrolling down.

    If you have a three panel view the space bar just opens a popup window with the message. Its absolutely confusing not to be able to scroll through a larger message using the cursor keys. I verified that scrolling works if I click the subject which is a big usability fail...

    Space bar should be used to scroll down the selected email or to preview if an attachement is selected (like in Mail)
