When composing a mail, the compose window should always stay in the foreground, especially when Airmail is in full screen mode.

Right now, switching to another application, e.g. to select a file to drag as an attachment into the mail sends the compose window to the back which means you cannot drop the file into the mail body anymore as the compose window is now in the background.
