After reading a new message and then delete it move to the next unread message
After reading a message move to the next unread message.
I have newest messages on the top. I read the incoming messages from the bottom up (the oldest) to make sure I read conversations in the order they happen.
Right now when I delete a message it does not move up to the next unread message.
Wish that when deleting an email it moves up to the next message above.

this would seem obvious to me - why would you want to see an already read message if you are moving up through your list? Surely the next unread messsage should be automatically be the next one selected after delete?

TOTALLY agree. It drives me mad that it goes down and not up!

After searching for an answer to this I came up with nothing.
This is a support person saying use the shortcuts "[" or "]", which, not sure what those are. I don't see them in the menu or listed anywhere.
Definitely need this for me to stop looking at Mail.app

+1 - doesn't everyone work this way? I would think the default behavior would be to move to the next unread message upon delete. This would be to move up if your have newest at top and read oldest first.

Yes! This is very important to me and OS X supports this behavior.
