Block external connections
Please provide an opportunity to be able to choose which connections are allowed. For example, I receive a email with a facebook link, then airmail will connect automatically to facebook and they collect my data. I want to be able to see what is going on and to block unwanted connections such as facebook (or any cooperation that joined the nsa-prism-spy-programme)
As as I can tell this is still a problem. I have 'load remote images' turned off but Little Snitch is still prompting me to allow or disallow connections to remote URLs. Some emails this can be quite a few. I can't make rules for them because each new sender has a new set of URLs to block.
a) this seems to negate any benefits that come from disallowing remote image download
b) it's tiresome, annoying and a waste of time.
Surely this must be important enough to merit some attention?
rf.memo: this is wrong. Airmail still loads embedded content, although every option that says "load remote content" is disabled. this can be tested with https://www.emailprivacytester.com. I reported this bad behaviour months ago and it is still not fixed. This is a HUGE privacy concern, and disabling the options does nothing at all!

#Maze: No, this is not enough. Even if you turn off image loading it will connect to the embedded domains or external links. It would be nice to have a feature that rejects any connection attempt unless you deliberately want it (and of course to be able to turn off this feature alltogether for the users who don't care). I am thinking of a white list: Every connection will be asked and you can choose if you allow it once or forever (= white list).
I think this problem can be easily solved. In the settings you can disable the auto load of pictures. I don't know why this is enabled by default, because in every big mail app this setting is disabled. So please dear airmail developers: this option must be disabled!
agree to Dalla, with "HandsOff" you can see Airmail wants to connect to domains which are embedded into the mail content - why? I turned off the image loading but Airmail wants to connect to domains. The connection handling should be configurable by the user
