Airmail crashes when entering emojis macOS Sierra

Version 3.0.2 (382)
with macOS Sierra 10.12 (16A323)
to reproduce bug:
* have airmail open for a while
* write message (new or reply)
* use keyboard shortcut for entering emojis: (ctrl + cmd + space)
* then airmail crashes
* bug reports send to Apple & Airmail
* restart Airmail
* try again, now entering emoji works

This also happens to me on my iPhone 6 ios 10.3.3 airmail app version 1.73 installed 12 Oct 2017
