How can we improve Airmail?

  1. Airmail Energy Impact is very high - Optimize energy used

    Airmail is always the top most app in the activity monitor energy impact tab. Even with the app hidden, it's energy impact is constantly high and shifting. I only have a gmail and a exchange account with 2min inbox and 10 min folder refresh sync. This is really troubling and while I loved Airmail when I was on my iMac, it just seems to chew through my MacBook Pro battery.

  2. process big attachments on a background thread

    1. when i click on an email with a big excel attachment (7MB, 23000 rows) Airmail shows a beachball cursor and becomes unresponsive for ca 30-40 seconds. after the mail is opened the attachment displayed as an icon.

    2. when i doubleclick the same email, a small preview window is opened and airmail freezes

    idea: don't process big attachments on the main thread

  3. Improve perfomance when opening mails with large (5mb+) attachments

    right now on version 3.2.4 it freezes the whole app and can take even a couple of minutes to display the mail (macOS 10.12.3)

  4. Make the Spam Sieve integration actually WORK!

    While I like a lot of things about AirMail 2, I am getting very tired of the misbehaving Spam Sieve functionality. Often, it simply stops flagging anything as spam, and even more frequently, I end up with dozens of messages in the SPAM box which cannot be deleted.

  5. Make Message Browsing Snappier

    The delay between clicking a Message in List view and it being displayed is too long (> 100 ms) and makes the overall message browsing experience feel very sluggish. I'd like Messages to render instantly, possibly in a preview mode or as plain text. And I'd also like the keyboard based navigation of messages to not be delayed by the rendering of the message view. Ideally browsing is as snappy as navigating the Filesystem in Finder and Quicklook previews.

  6. empty trash hang

    Whenever I empty the trash the application hangs. I have to force quit it and then when I re-launch I can finish emptying the trash.

    This is the only problem I have with this app.

  7. Numerous problems with latest release

    Been experience many failures lately too numerous to name; - mail not sending, mail headers appearing in viewer but content not being downloaded; very unreliable of late.

  8. Airmail is sending empty emails ALL THE TIME

    Everytime I respond to an email where someone is in CC, airmail just send the exact same email to those ppl and myself. super frustrating.

  9. Downloading the email

    Hi there!
    Thank you for the app, working more or less good :)

    I've noticed one unpleasant feature: when I open an email, it doesn't download properly from the first time. I'm enclosing the sreen for that. Please fix it.
    Maybe the app has some problems with html-based newsletters or smth like that.

  10. The context menu takes a long time to load

    when I try to open the context menu in a message or in the main window, it takes several seconds to load (and often has a spinning beach ball). It should load instantly.

  11. SMTP does not work with Zoho

    Can you make SMTP work. I get the SMTP Test failed. It is not an email server problem (Mac Mail has the exact same settings and works)

  12. spelling mistake & plugin doesn't work

    The "Framework Downlaod and samples" is misspelt as shown in the quotes in this paragraph.

    Also the GPG plugin crashes the application when trying to compose a new message.

  13. Improve local folder performance

    Moving one or more mails from inbox to local folders is hit or miss at best. Sometimes it takes several repeat attempts, sometimes it happens 10's of seconds or a minute after being actioned. Sometimes one can go ahead and do other moves which work or fail before the original occurs. It's the most annoying and time consuming part of Airmail on
    Mac usage.

  14. Bug report: hit trash button, app freezes

    When I hit the trash button on the top menu, the window freezes and looks like this. I have to force quit the app and re open it. No issues when archiving messages though. Happens every time I try to delete a message using the trash icon on the top row menu.

  15. Make the color of an email in the row (the marked mail) adjustable.

    On my Macbook the marked email is light grey, ampel difference with the other emails in the row. If one can adjust that marking color himself he is less depending on how the screen of the laptop is set.

  16. BUG - double clicking in search bar makes the window full size, then disappear

    Double clicking in search bar (e.g. to highlight the search text) makes the window full size (as if you've double clicked on the top bar), then the window disappears completely when you double click to make it back to the size you had before. The only way to get it back is to quit and open the program again.

  17. Do not preview attachments over a certain size.

    Waiting for a large excel file preview to load can lock up the interface for quite some time. Instead, set a threshold value for attachment size above which attachments won't load a preview. Or set a timer that says if 5 seconds have gone by, cancel the preview and show an icon instead.

  18. Bug: all messages arrive as read when using desktop and iOS app

    This is a bug report. I've been able to isolate an issue with an IMAP account to the airmail iOS app. When both the desktop and iOS appp are enabled, all my mail arrives as read. When I disable the IMAP account on the iOS app, the problem goes away.

  19. Make the v keyboard shortcut as responsive and fast as it was in Airmail 2

    A feature that I use a lot, is the keyboard shortcut V to move messages to a given folder. In Airmail 2, this used to be very fast as – I just pressed v and immediately proceeded by typing the first few letters of the folder name. Now I just upgraded to Airmail 3, and I find that I now have to wait a moment after I press v before I start writing the name of the folder, or else it misses the first letter. This is really annoying, so I hope you can make it work as well as it…

  20. Cancel delete mail (Cmd+Z)

    I can't cancel the operation of the email deletion that I handled by mistake. Even if I push Cmd+Z key, nothing reacts.
    The retry(Shift + Cmd + Z) is the same, too.
