VIP unread notification
To be more specific regarding the VIP list. In Apple Mail I depended on the VIP list to show me if there were new (unread) emails for any given contact with a number to the right. This is a must have feature. Seems like it was just perhaps overlooked. Presently, the VIP list is simply a filter showing only email from that contact, read or unread. Please add - fix this asap! Automatic reply in Airmail

Message self-destruct setting
A self-destruct action would be like a snooze action, except that instead of resurfacing at a particular time, the email would automatically move to the Trash or Archive (per a preference setting).
This would be very useful for limited-time offers, newsletters, etc., that might have a limited shelf life. If an offer from a retailer is going to expire in two weeks, I might want to keep the email around in case I decide to shop at the store before then. But I don't need a bunch of expired offers littering my email.

Cursor up option
First, thanks for fixing the infinitely slow Address entry and thanks to Steven for getting back to me before I switched back to Mail.
In Airmail 2, I was able to keep my Inbox sorted descending by date and to "teach" the cursor to move up rather than down when I delete an email—in order to go from oldest to newest. I know I can do this with an arrow key but it was nice when it was automatic.

Font size shortcut
Ability to adjust the font size (for selected text) via short cut
Typically CMD + '+' is the shortcut to increase the font size in a lot of OS X apps. And CMD + - makes it smaller.
Airmail just makes everything bigger/smaller (don't know for what reason that is good for).

Fuzzy/partial search for folder operations (move to folder, etc.)
Having hit "v" to move a message to a folder, I can only find the folder "Teaching/Admin Hiring" by entering a search string starting "Tea..." Unfortunately, I sometime remember only part of the name of a folder. I'd like to be able to find this folder by typing any part of its name: "Admin" or "Hiring". MailActOn for AppleMail also allows me to match this folder with "Tea/Adm", which would be nice.

When you type V to move to folder it will only show the folder if it starts with the text
Moving to a folder you click V and then type text. The folders only show if the folder starts with the text. It should be smart enough to show all folders with the word.

Be able to set a reminder when you send an email to check if you get a response like SaneReminder
When I send an email I would like to be able to set a reminder (end of day, tomorrow, next week, etc) to check if I got a response on the email. Something like SaneReminder.

Insert image by menu action
Drag and dropping images into the compose window can be cumbersome, especially on a laptop.

Viewing and working with multiple email addresses
I'd like to have a way to easily see all the emails in the To:, CC:, etc. fields at once and to be able to copy them all at once.
In Apple's Mail.app, I just have to select the field to see the addresses and copy them. In Airmail, from what I can tell, I can only copy one email at a time from the down arrow by the from address. I also have a limited view of all the email addresses in each field which is problematic if there's a long list.

file message with related option
Would be nice to have option to file and message in the inbox and it's reply with a related thread located in another folder.
Example:
20 messages in a thread have all been filed in folder XXX, A new message arrives in the inbox which is a continuation of that same thread. Clicking replay presents user with option to file the message with thread after sending reply (and also file sent message). Click send and the message in the inbox and the reply you just sent are both filed in folder XXX with the rest of the thread.2 votes -
Offset message when dragging
When dragging a message from the list to a folder can you offset the message from the cursor so it is easier to see where the cursor is and which folder it is hovering over?

When you try to select a large portion of an email for copying you can only copy what is shown in the window.

Allow true custom shortcuts
Gmail allows remapping the shortcut keys (I remap "go down" from 'j' to 'n' as I use an alternative keyboard layout). It'd be great if Airmail either read the shortcuts I use or allowed me to remap the vi-style ones as well as the system ones. Also, '?' should bring up a list of shortcuts. That's a very handy feature that Gmail, Facebook, and GitHub all use.

Put message count on "To Read"
Put the message count on the "To Read" folder so you know how many messages are unread across all accounts.

Please can there be more definition between READ and UNREAD messages?
If you look at gmail, the difference in styling between READ and UNREAD messages is very clear, i find the blue dot for unread is messy and doesn't help clearly define. A darker background would be clearer.
