  1. antivirus

It would be great if you included the ability to support antivirus scanning engines for mail attachments.

What would be even more awesome is if you supported something even more powerful like a milter interface so that airmail could leverage a "standard" api to have email processed by a secondary applications:

  2. Ability to reset only one folder

I can rebuild a whole account so that all messages are re-downloaded. This is good but not very practical when there is a lot of messages in that account, so I'd like to be able to rebuild just one folder or mailbox.

  3. Automatic Salutation

I no longer use Dispatch on iOS anymore because Airmail is so much better. However, one thing I loved was the ability to have a customizable salutation that would automatically appear when composing an email to someone.

It would be awesome if for instance, you could create one in settings have it synced between devices (like you guys do with signatures).

    ie:

    Hey {first name variable}

    or

    Hi {first name variable}

It could automatically be filled in when composing or replying. Few seconds of time saved, but would be great!

  4. Read Receipts / Tracking Notification Every time email is opened

I like how the 'Read Receipt' works, however, I do not like how it only shows a receipt the first time the recipients opens the email. Rather, I believe that the user should receive a notification every time the user opens the email. As an everyday user or even a sales professional, it would showcase that the email is being read, but no response has been given. It might spark to send a quick follow up sparking a response.

  5. Should be able to Archive mail from a smart folder

If you are looking at a message in a smart folder, you can't archive it. You should be able to.

  6. Font size control

I can find no way to permanently set larger display fonts. On my 27" retina display, the fonts are painfully small. I'm considering giving up on the app entirely because of this basic, simple problem. Please, give us a way to set ALL font sizes in the app (display, in-message, everything).

  7. Load favicons from senders's domain

    Like the gravatar functionality.
If no gravatar is found, load the domain's favicon instead.

Allow users to save custom views. For example I'd like to sometimes use a view of Inbox showing Unread Messages, sorted by Sender then by Date. Then be able to revert to another view showing all messages, sorted by Date.

  9. Automatically BCC self when composing email

I auto-bcc myself on emails to ensure it is delivered correctly. Thunderbird and Apple Mail support this option, but Airmail doesn't

  10. remember my search history

Search history. I want Airmail to remember past searches as a dropdown list as I start typing a search. In the same day I will often repeat the same search. As I switch views I lose my search and have to go back and re-create it. This is particularly true because I cannot have multiple inbox windows (will request separately).

  11. using conversations in Draft folders should be separate option from using convos in Sent

Settings has a checkbox for "use conversations in Sent and Drafts folders". It is one checkbox for both folders; it should be two separate checkboxes.

Conversations in Draft folders gets very confusing to figure out which message in the thread is your (unsent) draft, especially if it should happen that the conversation proceeds forward (ie, more people start sending more emails to you) before you have managed to get back to your draft and finish and send it. Finding where your draft message went in the display is difficult. So for Drafts, far better to be able to disable conversations.

  12. Make banners interactive too

Currently we're able to set actions for quick access from the OS X notifications, which is a neat little feature. However, those notifications always require a manual action to disappear. If we could set the same quick access-actions for banners, we could decide whether we want to take action or simply let the banner fade away.

  13. Conversation Support

The ability to deal with a single mail inside a conversation adding labels, delete or move email of a conversation without affecting all the other messages of the conversation.
E.g. if I move a single mail in a converstaion in anew folder the single mail is also moved to the folder but remains in the conversation. The same applying a label to a single mail of a conversation, without affecting the remaining messages. If i delete a mail of a conversation the deleted mail ave the deleted label but stays in the converstaion. If a delete a conversation the conversatiion…

  14. Use "Move to [folder" again

Have context-sensitive menu display "Move to [previous folder]". After you move a message or messages to a folder, remember that folder and display it when messages are selected. 9 times out of 10, that's what I want to do.

  15. Add the standard OSX menubar item: "Window > Zoom"

Add the standard OSX menubar item: "Window > Zoom"

Practically every Mac app ever has had this menubar item. I don't understand why Airmail developers would remove it or not include it.

With every app I use, I know I can count on the CMD+Shift+Z keyboard shortcut (set in System Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts) to re-size an app's window size between my preferred max & min sizes.

But with Airmail, I have to either manually resize the Airmail app, or ALT+Click the green window button (which I never do), or find some loophole in BetterTouchTool… but nothing works and/or…

  16. Turn sounds on and off for different actions individually

I would like to keep the sound on when a message is sent, but I don't want to hear the sound every time a mail is deleted or moved to another folder. Instead of all sounds on or off, how about check boxes for which actions will have sounds.

    Thanks

  19. Pinning folders from multiple accounts to sidebar

As with most users, I have multiple email accounts even within our business. It would be nice to pin active folders from these accounts so that it makes it easier to manually select where they go when they are in the unified inbox.

  20. Create a Recently Downloaded bin

I'd like to suggest creating a recently downloaded bin within Airmail. I'd like to be able to click a button that opens a small window (within Airmail) that would allow me to see my most recent downloads in chronological order so that I could easily retrieve a recently downloaded document.

    thanks!
