  1. Follow-up reminders - so much room for improvement!

Love that we can set follow-up reminders to outgoing email in the event of a non-reply. However, the execution of the idea, in my opinion, leaves something to be desired:

1 - please arrange for the reminders to be moved automatically when the email is answered. Needing to do this manually, remembering which emails have been answered, is unnecessarily time- and energy-consuming.

2 - please use clearer flags for emails that have gone unanswered. I know we receive a notification each time the deadline passes, but this hovers in the top right corner of the screen for a few seconds…

  3. Allow deletion of most recent message in conversation

You should be able to delete the first message in a conversation without deleting the whole conversation.

  5. The ability to stop notification for mails from some conversations.

Just that, to be able to stop being notified when a new mail arrives for some conversations.

  6. Remember scroll position when switching emails

When you are reading a long email that you have to scroll to read, e.g. newsletters, if you select a different email to read and then select another email you'd opened previously, the scroll position is reset to the top of the message. It would be really helpful to preserve the scroll position for a given message (at least until it has been archived/deleted) so you could return to it later and resume reading where you left off.

  7. Smart Notifications (ike Spark)

Enable smart notifications like they have them on mobile. As I understand it, smart notifications mean that only emails addressed to me send a notification (so to avoid newsletter notifications etc). Spark has done this very well, it was one of my favorite features of theirs as it only disrupts my workflow when it really needs to (for what it understands to be important emails). In addition, Spark lets users select for each individual sender to be added to the smart list or not, which is useful, as not every email/sender sent to me means it's important (this is kind…

  9. Show full Email-address by default

Besides showing the sender's name, also show the Email address by default (instead of having to click the pull-down arrow). This would improve security because phishing mails could be identified by their fake email addresses.

  12. Switch accounts automatically based on time of day

I have two accounts on Airmail; one work and one personal. Out of office hours, say between 7pm and 8.30am, I do not want to see work emails in an effort to balance work/ life.

I appreciate I can already do this manually however I'll typically catch a glimpse of a work email, and that's enough to start thinking about work again. Airmail, please could you champion work/life balance and apply this feature?

  13. 'Pending Reply' Filter

Canary Mail had a great filtering feature allowing you to see only email that has been read, but had not yet been responded to.

It could be another icon with the other filters (see circle on image). It's a way to see, at a glance, the mail awaiting your response.

  14. AppleScript support for the date of emails

Please add AppleScript support to get the date of an email. Now you can get the sender, the subject, the recipient and the body out of Airmail with AppleScript, but not the date.

  15. Auto update "To Read" area

I would LOVE to see the "To Read" section refresh just like the regular email. Currently, if I get any new mail while I'm in the "To Read" area, I can't see it unless I leave the area and come back, or go to the inbox it's in or All Inboxes. I would use the "To Read" area as my primary view for Airmail, actually, except I would never know I've got new emails if that's all I ever stay in

  16. Hide "Done" items

Be able to hide "Done" items (exactly like "Show Starred")

This would be a better/simpler workaround for this, and I think basically solves my problem:

  17. mark emails while composing

It would be great if there was an option when composing an email to flag addresses. Example, in Apple Mail, you can toggle an option to flag addresses not ending in @work.com. This is a great option when using your work email, so you don't accidentally send a work related item to a friend, or to a colleague's personal email. It simply highlights the address in red when you are composing your email.

  20. Delete email from a push notification

When a notification comes in on my Mac (top right) it would be great to have the option to delete it right then. You offer the option to REPLY to the incoming email, and a DELETE option would be great as well. Apple Mail allows this. It’s a really quick & efficient way to delete something you immediately know you don’t need, rather than having to open the app.
