Email Avatars (icons) and Privacy
I've been using Airmail for some time now, and I'm concerned about one feature and its implications for privacy.
Even though I have icons off, when I get mail from, say, bankofamerica.com there is a BofA logo next to the e-mail address. I've searched this forum and I can't figure out where that icon is coming from.
My worry is that Airmail is sending a request every time I get an e-mail in order to provide that icon, and I don't want a third party knowing who is sending my mail. I understand that I can get icons for known contacts (and I'm cool with that since I know it is coming from my local contacts and not from the internet) but I get icons for e-mail addresses not in my contacts list.
