Most mailers have an easy way to remove an attachment before sending it if one has attached the wrong file - select and delete, a cute little X button to click, whatever.

Please don't say you can delete it in the saved draft of the message. You can't. That gives you the same message back, complete with the unwanted attachment and no way to get rid of it.
