    Agreed about not changing this. The Gmail browser client has always maintained/kept the stars when archiving! We are used to this and it has advantages. It must at least be an OPTION! Thank you.

    I don't think this is a correct behavior. Please revisit this again. This might cause unsolicited removed of stars which is undesired.
