Show Labels in Inbox view and on Email view + more prominant Apply Label button
I love using Airmail for Mac; it's fast and easy to use. I was waiting patiently for the iOS version, because the desktop version handles Google labels so well.
I might be doing something wrong, but I can't get the inbox to show the labels for each message in the inbox list view, just like it shows up on the All Mail view. This is the same on each account inbox, and on the unified inbox.
I'm also not able to see the labels as I read the emails, which is something that I need to decide how I will handle most messages.
In most of my email accounts, I have automatic labels applied to each client and big projects – so it is quite helpful to quickly see them. This is why I feel that having Airmail iOS behaving like the desktop version, specifically while using either one of the XL themes: Starry Night XL and Pro XL, which show the labels for each message in the list would make this app so much better.
The same goes for showing the labels while reading an email. The labels should be near the top. How else can you make sure the right labels are applied? Right now, even pressing the “Apply Label” button, fails to show checkmarks on labels that I know have already been applied.
On the bottom of the email view, it would be good to have the option to add a 4th button "Apply/Edit Labels" to the right of the "Delete" trash can. This icon could be a 3-line menu icon similar to the same button on the desktop app. Since I apply labels quite a lot, this should have the same importance as reply, archive and delete.
Adding one or all of these suggestions as preference settings would be ideal, as certainly you are creating this app to appeal to as many users as possible – and with this sentiment – I understand that less is more, but still catering to advanced users like me with these kinds of options would make this the ultimate mobile email tool. I already fly through emails like a superhero on my laptop, and with your new app, I see this happening on my iPhone as well.

When will this irritating issue be resolved? I find it hard to believe that a funciton so necessary, that works on the desktop version, cannot and does not work on the iOS version. Having labels appear on emails in the inbox, either past or recently received filtered messages is truly necessary for successful organization.
When I opened up a chat, the representative gave me a helpful temporary fix, “Yes, the iOS version does not sync the labels unless you open the labels manually in the sidebar.”
- But, as much as there is a temporary fix, I would expect an easy resolution to this matter. Perhaps a behind the scenes auto refresh or opening of all labels to help push them to the inbox? I am no software developer, but this error should be a relatively easy fix to put at ease a large collection of frustrated users. -

Yes, that is irritating that in the iOS version you cannot see the label for a message like the MacOS version. It seems like a rather large piece of function just omitted.

Is this solved already? Can't use the software without proper labeling and displaying them - I wouldn't need the labeling if I knew which email is important, like this this software brings zero value to me

I'm also having the same issue. I really like the labelling system in Gmail and would like to have it accessible in the iOS client of Airmail. For now it only appear when I select All Mail under the Gmail account on the side bar.
In other instances, e-mails with labels appear with a yellow icon on the top right corner. Which is not very helpful.
Is this a bug?

Would also like this feature in iOS. OS X works great with this feature and is needed on iOS to help keep things organized while using an iOS device.

This would definitely be very useful. I love this feature on the Mac version.

I was having the same issue - if you open the left menu and load all messages in each individual label, they seem to then show up in your inbox. Seems like a temporary fix for now.
